What kind of experience will our students have today?

One of the things that we think about when we plan our programming at Beit Sefer, is the question, "What kind of experience will our students have today?"

Our goal is that students will engage in a meaningful experience in which they construct a personal connection to Torah, Jewish holidays, rituals, community or other areas of Jewish content.    This can happen in so many different ways.  

In the photo on the left, Steve has his Kitah Dalet class huddled in the corner to read a book together called God's Paintbrush.  He is following up on a remarkable discussion the students had about God with an intimate shared reading experience.   

Our Kitah Dalet class also had an amazing time reading to their buddies in Kitah Alef.  Below are some pictures from their time together in the library.  While the books chosen and read are important, we know that the relationships and the roles played in the library have a strong impact on student learning.  

Our Kitah Heh class had a blast braiding and baking challah for their Shabbat event.   Making and celebrating Shabbat together is a memorable community experience.
