L'dor vador

We sing L'dor vador  in our liturgy.  "From one generation to another"  Today was a day all about the generations at Beit Sefer!

The parents of the Kitah Vav and Zayin students took turns meeting and working with their children to make a family tree.  For me the best part of having the parents gathered together is listening to the stories that they share.  It's an honor when people tell personal stories that reveal a bit more about who they are, why they are here, and what it means to them for their children to be having this Jewish experience.   



The families here represent diverse backgrounds and communities.  We have parents from all over the United States, from different countries and from different religious communities. We have parents who chose to be Jewish, and parents for whom Judaism is a cultural heritage. 





We can start to see the different types of families when they work on their family trees.  We can see the lives that brought this diverse group together to be in one community.
